The organisers of the world’s most beautiful marathon, the Two Oceans Marathon NPC (TOM NPC), have announced a newly constituted Board of Directors following their recent Annual General Meeting — marking what insiders are calling a “new chapter” for one of South Africa’s most iconic sporting institutions.

At the helm of this refreshed leadership is Chris Goldschmidt, who steps into the role of Chairperson, with Glenn Muller serving as Vice Chairperson. The appointments, which follow months of introspection within the organisation, signal a decisive move towards strengthening governance, restoring stakeholder confidence, and enhancing the experience for runners, partners, and communities alike.

A Reset Moment for South African Road Running

In his first public statement as Chairperson, Goldschmidt described the moment as a “reset” for the Two Oceans Marathon NPC.

“Our mandate is clear: to restore confidence through uncompromising governance, transparency, and accountability,” Goldschmidt said. “Working closely with Western Province Athletics (WPA), Celtic Harriers, our Ordinary Members, and Stillwater Sports as our staging and commercial partner, we will safeguard the organisation’s future, elevate the runner experience, and honour the trust placed in us by athletes, partners, and the broader community.” The Two Oceans Marathon — affectionately dubbed The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon — has, for decades, been a defining fixture on the South African and international road-running calendar. With this new leadership, TOM NPC is poised to build on that heritage while setting fresh benchmarks for organisational integrity and operational excellence.
