Secunda, South Africa – The critical issue of water security will take centre stage at the Water and Sanitation Indaba, scheduled for 7–8 October 2025 at the Sasol Club in Secunda. Hosted by Paradigm Shift Holdings (Pty) Ltd, in collaboration with the Department of Water and Sanitation, the Provincial Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, and other key stakeholders, the Indaba is poised to be a landmark gathering for South Africa’s water future.

The event comes at a time when water and sanitation have been elevated by President Cyril Ramaphosa as a national priority, recognising that sustainable water management underpins both community wellbeing and economic growth.

A Platform for Collaboration and Solutions
The Indaba is designed as more than just a dialogue – it is a working platform for stakeholders across government, business, and civil society to forge solutions. Objectives include:

  • Collaboration and knowledge sharing: creating a space for the exchange of best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Addressing local water challenges: tackling pressing issues such as infrastructure maintenance, pollution, and access to clean water.
  • Promoting conservation: encouraging sustainable water management among households, municipalities, and industry.
  • Driving economic growth: exploring how water security can fuel job creation and poverty reduction.

Engagement Through Expertise
The two-day programme will feature keynote addresses by water sector experts, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Delegates will have the opportunity to participate as panellists, facilitators, sponsors, or engaged participants—ensuring the Indaba fosters both thought leadership and actionable outcomes.

A Call for Sustainable Action
“Water security is not a sectoral issue – it’s a national imperative,” organisers emphasised. “This Indaba is about bringing together the right minds, the right resources, and the right commitment to build a water-secure future.”

The event builds on the success of previous summits, reinforcing government and private sector alignment in tackling South Africa’s most urgent water and sanitation challenges.
